THE CITY seeks a dynamic Institutional Giving Manager for its growing development team. You’ll be part of New York City's premier nonprofit newsroom focusing on accountability and service journalism for New Yorkers. You’ll play a key role in expanding our foundation partnerships and measuring our journalism's impact. Your work will directly support essential local reporting that serves all New Yorkers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft compelling proposals, reports, LOIs and case statements for the entire institutional portfolio
- Maintain strong relationships with foundation partners, especially those providing smaller/annual gifts
- Lead foundation prospecting and help secure new institutional funding
- Manage grant reporting calendar, requirements, and documentation across CRM’s and other project management tools
- Track and showcase our journalism's impact through comprehensive reports using analytics tools
- Collaborate with Finance team on grant budgets and financial reporting
The Ideal Candidate Has:
- 3+ years experience in nonprofit development, particularly with foundations
- Outstanding writing and storytelling abilities
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience with impact measurement and grant reporting
- Passion for local journalism and THE CITY's mission
Compensation: Salary range: $70,000-$85,000 + comprehensive benefits
